When food is all gone, a scorpion can slow down its metabolism to the point where it can survive for up to a year on a single meal. It sleeps in the sand, it makes a hole and makes it bigger and bigger so then it can move around in its den. At night it comes out and hunts for food to feed itself because it is nocturnal so it only come out at night.
